“Social Distancing doesn’t have to mean Social Isolation” –Whitney Clayton.
In this time of distance and worry, isolation can become not only a reality but a prison for many. We are alone with our own thoughts, our own fears, our own worries, and the spiraling cycle of what might have been had I done this, that, or the other thing. But it doesn’t have to be that way. Social distancing doesn’t have to mean social isolation nor isolation from God. Consider the following:
GOD IS NOT DISTANT…
God doesn’t have to stay 6, 10, or even 1 foot away from you; He is always with you. He has given us the Holy Spirit to live within us, His Word to breath fresh life on us, and His Son to show us love. Do not neglect your time with God, it is more important than ever.
YOUR COMMUNITY STILL EXISTS…
We have been forced to get creative in the ways we interact; sure it isn’t what we are used to or what we want, but never-the-less your community still exists. Facebook, Zoom, Messenger, FaceTime, Netflix Party, etc…the possibilities are endless. This is a time to get creative while still being safe. Distancing is mandated but Isolation is still a choice…don’t isolate friends…you are not alone.
THIS TOO SHALL PASS…
While we are not sure when…we know that this too shall pass. God and His Word are the only things which are eternal, so we know that this too shall pass away. Take hope dear friends that no matter what troubles the world can bring Christ has overcome the World so that we may securely place our faith and hope in Him.
You are not alone. Take courage!
